And we analyzed writing efficiency by comparing the frequency of appearance in the newspaper article with the complexity of characters. Consequently, it became clear that the writing efficiency of a hiragana character is very bad. This is a big problem when handwriting describes a hiragana character. And recognizing a hiragana character using Tablet PC will have many losses in respect of input efficiency. Based on the above-mentioned result, we developed the new characters.
