 note = {application/pdf, The earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in 13 km in depth of the Niigata Prefecture Chuetsu at 5 : 56PM, October 23, 2004. The Niigata Prefecture Kawaguchimachi observed seven in the seismic intensity due to this earthquake. A strong shake was observed to Tohoku, Hokuriku, and the Kanto region in the large range. Afterwards, an active aftershock activity continued, and it observed more than five or less in the seismic intensity as many as 19 times by the end on December, 2004. The damage situation gave the extensive damage from the storm to the house and the road, etc. around the Kawaguchimachi that was the vicinity of the hypocenter. Especially, the sand of the landslide formed the landslide dam to flowed piece in the river in the Yamakoshimura. Therefore, it went under water in the region in each village. The above-mentioned damage is thought that not only the earthquake but also the influence of Typhoon No. 23 generated ahead of that is a great factor.},
