And they are easier to understand when paraphrased. So I have paraphrased more of them as a second continuation of my column in Memmoirs of Nagano National College of Technology No. 28, pp. 81-90. To explain each proverb thoroughly, I have formed a system which has three phases such as the last time. They are as follows. 1. The original proverb and its literal translation with some background information 2. A paraphrase of each proverb and amplication of its meaning 3. Remarks on its teaching or admonishnent Using the above system, I have given the English interpretation of Japanese provepbs and their meaning as it relates to the English speaking world. I believe this system will help open the door to using Japanese proverbs both for communication and for teaching life values.}, pages = {71--76}, title = {日本語の諺の英語へのパラフレーズ(3)}, volume = {32}, year = {1998} }
