In order to meet this goal, we, the group of 2nd-year homeroom teachers, gave much thought to preparatory guidance as well as to guidance at the site, by giving the students as much time as possible to plan and prepare for the trip themselves. We hope our guidance will be a step toward fostering their attitude of self-management. Through this experience, it seems to us that they have come to realize that they are expected to behave differently from the way they used to and that they should be sympathetic to their friends and the homeroom to which they belong. They also seem to have understood the difficulty and importance of getting along with others. Above all, this travel has been a priceless experience to those on the excursion committee who had to lead classroom students.
