 note = {application, Experimental manufacturing of the type 3 worm gears and operating efficiency tests were conducted. Firstly, experimental manufacture of two wheels of an exactly same size are carried out with a type 3 worm hob. Secondly, the type 3 worm of an original dimensions and a worm which has the same dimensions as the basic theard surface of the above hob are manufactured. Then, two type 3 worm gears, the one crowning applied and the other without crowning, are provided. Thirdly, their operating efficiency tests and tooth bearing tests are performed. Finaly, the validity of the crowning method is confirmed from analysis of these testing results.},
