Firstly, experimental manufacture of two wheels of an exactly same size are carried out with a type 3 worm hob. Secondly, the type 3 worm of an original dimensions and a worm which has the same dimensions as the basic theard surface of the above hob are manufactured. Then, two type 3 worm gears, the one crowning applied and the other without crowning, are provided. Thirdly, their operating efficiency tests and tooth bearing tests are performed.
