It is difficult to interrupt dc current, because dc current doesn't have zero-value like ac one. Therefor, many approaches to interrupt dc current have been proposed. As one of these methods, the dc circuit breaker with enclosed arc extinction chamber filled with water possess the better ability as a interrupter. But the mechanism concerning the interruption of dc current in this circuit breaker still haven't been explicated in detail. The spectrum analyzer presented in this paper was made for the porpose of measuring the situation of atoms in the arc plasma. As the term of the interrupting dc current is so short, CCD-image-sensor which is characteristic of high speed sampling and high sensitivity of the light is used in this spectrum analyzer.
