| 内容記述 | The Compositions of two Malaysian students were analyzed in terms of grammatical items. Grammatical errors and unnatural usage of words, phrases and expressions in the compositions were first corrected and then classified according to a list of grammatical items. The results indicated that the compositions by the two students had most corrections in the category of diction which means the proper selection of words and not total grammatical errors. Other types of corrections were also found, but the problem of interference of languages, Malay and English, is beyond the range of discussion. It is concluded that there were a number of informal, colloquial expressions in the compositions, and that although the two students had various kinds of errors in their writing, the contents were quite understandable to the reader. | |||||
