| 内容記述 | Carburizing which is typical method of surface hardening improves markedly on wear-resistance and fatigue strength. This paper reports the effects of heat treatment on carburized structure and hardness. The low carbon steel (S15CK) carburized by pack carburizing was quenched into oil bath, and was quenched under the condition of three different cooling rates, further. In these processes the variations of structure and hardness were observed by optical microscope, scanning electron microscope and microhardness tester. The low carbon steel was carburized to the depth of about 2mm from surface by carburizing process of 950℃×5hr. The fine mixed structure of Widmanstätten ferrite and martensite was observed in center by primary quenching. Following structures were observed by secondary quenching; martensite, martensite and troostite, fine pearlite under the conditions of water quenching, oil quenching and air cooling, respectively. Further, the constant hardness of maximum was measured in the depth of 0.2mm to 1.0mm from surface. The maximum hardness in outer side and the average hardness in center increased in proportion to cooling rates. | |||||
