| 内容記述 | Henry Lawson portrays many eccentric characters in his short stories. According to Lawson, the loneliness, monotony, and hardships of bush life are the main factors which produce those 'eccentrics'. To describe and classify the 'eccentrics' who appear in the stories of Henry Lawson is worthwhile, because they seem to provide the archetypes for succeeding short story writers as well as novelists including Henry Handel Richardson, Patrick White and Xavier Herbert. Henry Lawson's 'eccentrics' are classified into four groups: 1. eccentric professionals with a past, 2 other eccentrics, 3. spielers and sundowners, 4. wrecks. | |||||
