There are various types of dramaturgy in Shakespeare's plays. The playwright always seeks the best way to produce what he wants to express on the stage. The main purpose of this paper is to make clear some unique types of dramaturgy applied in The Winter's Tale. In order to make the final scene of Hermione effective and moving, Shakespeare keeps guiding the audience's response throughout the play. In some scenes, he draws our attention to the outward appearance of the characters, rather than the words spoken by them. And especially in the later section of the play, we are indirectly urged to belive unreal as real by the onstage audience. Nearly at the end of his career, he still tries to devise some new dramatic ways.
